A series of Installation, Interaction artworks

cotton, clocks, paper, timber,etc

A clock is never a tool for time,

but a monument for human's metacognition.

The 'SOME DAY' Series and  'ONE DAY' are twin works.

Even though they don't look similar to each other, but both works represent my definition of time.

If both works are going to be compared with articles, the concept of SOME DAY which I want to express is going to be extended much broader than ONE DAY.

The conception of SOME DAY clocks has sociological attributes as if it were an experiment or documentary literature. By maintaining the size and colour of the clocks, but changing their state, shape, structure, mechanics, and interaction with humans. unlike ONE DAY, was me using my own body as a tool to feel time pass and the changing of nature.

My earliest sensation of time through a trip by train, whenever the train passed, the scenery along the way was always obscure and blur, seemingly those flowers and trees were deconstructed by time.  View more on

It was the first moment that I shocked by the "objective things" and "rationalism", the vague flowers, blurred trees is the essence of time, and a clock is just a complementary tool. When I got home, I looked at the clock and felt a sense of sadness: Why should humans create this stuff to remind themselves of the constant disappearance of their lives?

Scientific research and topics of time seem to have been so immutable, rigorous, ambitious and untouchable. But for general's recognization, I want to create a more touchable thing. The clock as a monument, it enables people to a major social event, it can be a monument to a certain memory, or a monument to a certain concept, the clock, even turned into a controllable little toy, just time to remind or the flashing function of the clock seems too monotonous, according to this idea, my work SOMEDAY was born.

It is true that I have taken into account the extension of the topic when I have done this series, and the topic of time will never go out of date.

I highly doubt the speaking of "times gone by". It is not a flowing thing to me, even it is something independent out of our current expanding universe. But I still prefer to thinking of time as non-fluid energy, the only matter that could be passing away is human beings ourselves.

Rationally, I'm able to achieve the image of a monument to human life by means of artistic transformation, modifying the different structures and shapes of the clock, or other factors, or by increasing or decreasing it.

different types of my clocks as evidence of the passage of time, their definitions are also mean to be reached to multi-dimension.

Inside of this work, they can be seen as the collections of my poems but in physical form. I  recreate it no just to demonstrate the passive-aggressive me.  but to against the insensible feelings under the mundane life of all modern society.

And there is also a special monument to memorizes the people who died in ‘5.12 Wenchuan violent earthquake’(8.0Ms) 2008,China.

Policy

One of the most thoughtful works I made in this series,

the idea of policy is from the policy documents we've read every single time.

such as the moment we clicked the 'Agree' button in order to use the applications and devices,

In fact, people won't look into the policy details just for saving time,

but the time we waste the most is those devices took from us after we agree.
